Investigators say a man arrested for exposing himself to a customer at a local Dollar General store committed the same act at numerous stores throughout west Georgia.
Zani Kenneth Donnell Brown, 25, of Villa Rica was arrested Tuesday and charged with public indecency.
According to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrest warrant, Brown was at the Dollar General on Midway Road on April 14, 2024, when he exposed himself to a woman and began to fondle himself.
Brown’s arrest came after months of tracking by investigators from Douglas, Carroll, Paulding and other area counties, who were looking into similar incidents at other Dollar General stores.
“Working in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies over the past several months, Brown was identified as the perpetrator who was going to Dollar General stores across west Georgia and exposing himself to customers,” the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office posted on its Facebook page Wednesday.
He remained in custody on a $5,000 bond late Friday afternoon, according to jail records.
In September 2018, Brown was arrested for punching his partner in the face, causing multiple cuts, during an altercation at the home they shared in Villa Rica, according to an arrest warrant. The attack was witnessed by a 13-year-old girl.
Police say Brown also damaged the victim’s cell phone.
Brown was arrested the following January and charged with battery, cruelty to children and criminal trespass. In January 2022, he pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to two years on probation and a $300 fine.
Brown also was ordered to complete violence prevention, anger management and alcohol risk reduction programs. He also had to complete a psychological evaluation and was prevented from driving and having contact with the victim.
